# Yatoon Booking 4.8.0 — quick start

## Install or update

1. Back up the WordPress database and files.
2. Install Yatoon Salon Booking & Appointments from Plugins > Add New, or upload the matching Free / Pro ZIP in Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
3. Activate one edition. When uploading an update, replace the existing edition; do not delete booking data or run two editions together.
4. Open Yatoon Booking > Settings > Features & setup > Setup Wizard. Help & demo is in the same section, with a shortcut on Today. All tools also retains the original destinations.

## Set up a bookable service

1. Enter business name, address, contact details and salon timezone.
2. Add an active, bookable team member. Set their weekly hours and assign the services they perform.
3. Add an active service with price and duration. Set any options or add-ons and check staff assignments.
4. Set business hours, breaks and closed dates. Check booking lead time. In Local mode, schedules are stored in WordPress. External providers need their own connection and availability configuration; integrations depend on the installed edition.
5. Let the wizard create the public booking page, or publish a page containing `[yatoon_booking]`. Exclude booking and portal pages from full-page caching and delayed JavaScript optimization.
6. Open the page on a phone, submit a test booking and check the appointment in Bookings. Confirm receipt of the wizard notification test before sharing the public URL. A mail send result means the mail service accepted the message, not guaranteed inbox delivery.

## Use the appointment list

The list counts appointment units, rather than individual service rows. A stored `group_booking_id` joins local multi-service bookings; the same Square appointment ID joins older imported split records that have no local group ID. Expand a row to manage its services and add-ons. Unrelated appointments are not merged just because the customer and day match.

The default status filter excludes cancelled visits, including provider cancellation variants. Choose Cancelled or All statuses to find their history. In a visit with both active and cancelled items, cancelled items are folded separately and excluded from the active service total. Individual record IDs, payment information and available actions remain visible when expanded. Guest labels identify items in group appointments.

Search and paging operate on the full booking database. A page contains at most 100 appointment units and includes all rows belonging to each unit; an appointment is never split across pages. CSV export includes all appointments, not just the current filter or page.

The owner's Today page also summarizes each visit once. Open Manage services for the real service records and their detail actions. Cancelled-only visits are available in the Bookings status filters. The role-scoped Front Desk keeps its service workflow.

## Send a customer review invitation

Open Settings > Notifications. Search for a customer by name, email or phone, including older bookings. Choose a visit, review the address, optionally correct it, preview the email and press Send review request now. This sends one invitation for the selected visit and saves the corrected address to that appointment. The manual action is available even if an earlier attempt did not fail. Check delivery history for errors and your mail service for inbox delivery problems.

## Demo and support

- Live demo: https://yatoon.com/bookingdemo/ — example appointments are cleared periodically; this is separate from your business page.

When asking for support, provide plugin/WordPress versions, booking mode and steps to reproduce. Remove customer contact details, passwords and API keys from screenshots.

## Optional plugin feedback

The manager's Today page can show one small review invitation after the first real booking is at least 14 days old and at least five complete appointment units have finished. A multi-service visit counts once; cancelled-only and unfinished visits do not qualify. Eligibility is cached for one day. No customer rating or sentiment is used to decide who sees the invitation.

Leave an honest review opens WordPress.org and stops further invitations for that manager; it does not submit a review or claim one was written. Remind me in 30 days snoozes the card; Do not ask again hides it for that manager. The Help & demo page always retains the voluntary review link.
