# Meaningful Business Impact: Interactive Data Navigation

## 1. Problem Identification
While CardCrafter excelled at displaying data from JSON sources, it lacked interactivity.
- **Scenario:** A "Team Directory" with 50+ members.
- **Problem:** Users had to scroll endlessly to find a specific person.
- **Business Impact:** High friction. If users can't find what they are looking for quickly, they bounce. For e-commerce product grids, this directly translates to **lost sales**. For directories, it means **poor UX**.

## 2. Solution: Client-Side Search & Sort
I engineered a robust, client-side search and sorting mechanism directly into the `CardCrafter` core library.

### Key Technical Decisions:
1.  **Client-Side Architecture:** Since the plugin fetches the full JSON dataset (typically < 1MB), performing search/sort in the browser is immediate (sub-10ms) and reduces server load. No round-trip to the server is required for filtering.
2.  **Smart Filtering:** The search algorithm checks `Title`, `Subtitle`, and `Description` fields simultaneously, ensuring users find matches even if they remember a keyword from the bio rather than the name.
3.  **Preserved State:** The architecture separates `this.items` (original source of truth) from `this.filteredItems` (view state), preventing data loss during complex filter/sort operations.

## 3. Business Value
- **Increased Engagement:** Users can now interact with the data, making the site feel like a "Web App" rather than a static page.
- **Higher Conversion:** In product showcases, sorting by name or searching for specific terms helps users find products faster.
