# Background Color Format

### How to add highlighted text or heading background color?

Follow the steps below to change the highlighted text or heading background color easily.

1. Select or highlight the text that you want to add the background color.
2. Click the highlighter icon on the block Toolbar. This will open a popover with list or colors to choose from.
3. Select the color you want and it will automatically be applied on the text you've selected.
