This folder contains comprehensive sample forum data that you can import to explore all features and functionalities of the Forumax plugin.

## How to Import

### Method 1: WordPress Importer (Recommended)

1. Go to **Tools → Import** in your WordPress admin
2. Click on **WordPress** - if not installed, install the WordPress Importer plugin
3. Click **Run Importer**
4. Choose the `forumax-sample-data.xml` file from this folder
5. Click **Upload file and import**
6. Assign authors to existing users or create new ones
7. Check "Download and import file attachments" if available
8. Click **Submit**

### Method 2: Using WP-CLI

```

## What's New in Enhanced Sample Data

This enhanced version of the sample data demonstrates advanced Forumax features:

### 🔒 Closed Topics

Two topics showcase the closed topic functionality:

- **Community Guidelines Discussion** - Shows how finalized discussions can be closed
- **Old Plugin Compatibility Thread** - Demonstrates archiving outdated topics

### 💬 Threaded Replies (Reply-to-Reply)

The **"Custom CSS Not Loading"** topic features a realistic troubleshooting conversation:

- User asks for help
- Support asks clarifying questions (reply to topic)
- User responds to support (reply to reply)
- Developer provides solution (reply to user's response)
- User confirms solution (reply to developer)

This demonstrates the `_bbp_reply_to` meta field showing nested conversations.

## After Import

After importing the sample data:

1. Go to **Forumax → Forum Builder** to see your new forums
2. Visit **Forumax → Dashboard** to view the statistics
3. Check the frontend to see the forums in action
4. Test features like:
   - Viewing topics and replies
   - Filtering by topic tags
   - Viewing solved vs unsolved topics
   - Topic voting (if enabled)
   - Sticky topics (pinned at top)
   - Navigating different forums

## Features You Can Explore

After importing, you can test these Forumax features:

- ✅ **Solved Topics** - See topics marked as resolved with clear badges
- 📌 **Sticky Topics** - Topics pinned at the top of forums
- 🔒 **Closed Topics** - Topics that are closed for new replies
- 💬 **Threaded Replies** - Reply-to-reply conversations showing nested discussions
- 🏷️ **Topic Tags** - Categorization and filtering system
- 📊 **Statistics** - View forum, topic, and reply counts on Dashboard
- 🔍 **Search** - Find topics and replies across forums
- 👥 **User Activity** - See who posted what and when
- 🖼️ **Featured Images** - Topics with thumbnail images
- 📝 **Rich Content** - HTML formatted content with lists, headings, and code blocks

## Cleaning Up

To remove the sample data, you can:

1. Delete the imported forums from **Forumax → Forum Builder**
2. Or delete the forum/topic/reply posts from the WordPress admin
3. Delete the sample users from **Users** if they were created

## Notes

- The sample data uses placeholder IDs that will be replaced during import
- User emails in the sample are example emails (not real)
- You may need to go to **Settings → Permalinks** and click "Save Changes" after import
- Run **Forumax → Tools → Repair Forums** if counts seem incorrect
