# Upgrade to Disco 0.10.0

## BC BREAK: Rasing minimum PHP version to 7.2

With the 0.10.0 release of Disco support for PHP 7.1 is dropped. Disco
will only work in PHP 7.2 environments. In addition to that, return type
hints were added, thus if you are extending Disco or implementing provided
interfaces, you need to adapt those changes.

# Upgrade to Disco 0.9.0

## BC BREAK: Rasing minimum PHP version to 7.1

With the 0.9.0 release of Disco support for PHP 7.0 is dropped. Disco
will only work in PHP 7.1 environments due to it's dependency of the
latest stable version of `ocramius/proxy-manager`.

## BC BREAK: Bean Aliases

Bean aliases are no longer defined by the `alias` attribute. The attribute
is named `aliases` and holds an array of `@Alias` annotations. The new
syntax looks like this:
```php
    /**
      * @Bean({
      *   "aliases"={
      *      @Alias({"name" = "\Identifier\With\Namespace"}),
      *      @Alias({"type" = true})
      *   }
      * })
      */
```

In previous releases the first defined alias was used, the other were
ignored. Since this release an exception gets thrown when an alias already
is defined.

## BC BREAK: Parameters

To be consistent to the way aliases are defined the parameter handling
changed. The `@Parameters` annotation got removed. Parameters are defined
by adding a `parameters` attribute to the `@Bean` annotation which holds
the `@Parameter` collection. The new syntax looks like this:

    /**
     * @Bean({
     *   "parameters"={
     *      @Parameter({"name" = "test"})
     *   }
     * })
     */
```

## BC BREAK: Removal of BeanFactoryPostProcessor

Injecting a container into a bean (service) is considered a bad practice,
thus the BeanFactoryPostProcessor implementation is removed. The general
post processor logic is still in place, a custom BeanFactoryPostProcessor
implementation can still be used.

# Upgrade to Disco 0.5.0

## BC BREAK: Rasing minimum PHP version to 7.0

With the 0.5.0 release of Disco support for PHP 5.x is dropped. Disco
will only work in PHP 7.x environments since Disco relies on some of the
PHP 7.x features, e.g. return type definitions.

## BC BREAK: Return type definitions

Disco 0.5.0 dropped support for the @return annotations and strictly
relies on the return type definitions now. 

While this was valid configuration code before the 0.5.0 release:

This is how you have to define bean instances for the 0.5.0 release:

Relying on return type definitions also fixes a few issues with traits
defined in different namespaces. PHP now can properly resolve these types
and we do no longer need to "guess" which type might be the correct one.

## BC BREAK: BeanFactoryConfiguration

The `\bitExpert\Disco\BeanFactoryConfiguration::__construct()` method 
signature changed. The constructor accepts just one parameter which 
defines the directory where the proxy classes and the annotation metadata
are stored. To configure a proxy autoloader instance or a proxy genrator
instance use the respective setter methods of the object.

## BC BREAK: Serialization of AnnotationBeanFactory

To make use of the session-aware beans it is no longer possible to serialize
the `\bitExpert\Disco\AnnotationBeanFactory` instance. Instead grab the 
`\bitExpert\Disco\Store\BeanStore` instance by calling 
`\bitExpert\Disco\BeanFactoryConfiguration::getSessionBeanStore()` and serialize
it. Pass the unserialized object to the `\bitExpert\Disco\BeanFactoryConfiguration`
before creating the `\bitExpert\Disco\AnnotationBeanFactory` instance.
